Downtown Medicine Hat
Welcome to the City of Medicine Hat, City Centre Development Agency website. We are Medicine Hat’s Downtown Business Association and Revitalization Zone. Our directors work together to come up with promotional ideas that will draw people down to the City Core as well as researching new opportunities for investment and development to better our downtown. We also put on special events, some in conjunction with the Monarch Theatre also located in the down town core of Medicine Hat.
From business to pleasure, our downtown has it covered! There are a variety of shops, restaurants, banks, law firms, accountants, government offices, dentists, doctors, parks, a library, Court House, City Hall, brokers, Chamber of Commerce, Community Futures, employment services, The Monarch Theatre and much more.
Our board is committed to promoting and bettering your experience downtown. The core is the heart of our City, historically and spacially. Downtown is not big box: It is original and unique, with abounding character. Oftentimes you would be surprised at the history behind each building and how it’s use has evolved through the years. It is a beautiful thing to have historic archetecture playing host to new experiences such as our emerging arts culture scene on 2nd Street. Promoting what we love about our core is our passion. Our Mandate
The mandate of the City Centre Development Agency is to:
- Encourage the future business development of the downtown;
- To promote the downtown as a destination shopping and service area;
- And to help facilitate the sustainability of new and existing businesses to the downtown area.
