25th Annual Chili Cook-Off

Is your chili the best in the west?! Prove it!! Chili Cook Off has been a Downtown tradition for 25 years! Gather your friends, family and co-workers and enter a chili or salsa team in this fun competition…….we promise you will have a rootin’ tootin’ good time! Great prizes awarded in various categories!
Prefer to taste the chili? Come Downtown on Saturday, July 19th, 12pm ’til the chili runs dry! Chili and salsa samples are generously provided by the participating teams and are distributed on a first come first serve basis. Plan to get there early, as the samples will go fast! For only $5 you can sample the numerous choices of chili and salsa and then cast your vote for a winner! The Medicine Hat Potters Association will also be in attendance selling beautiful hand-made pottery bowls, with the proceeds going to two local charities; Prairie Gleamers and the Medicine Hat Community Food Connection. Please Note…….all chili tasters must pay for their sampling bowls at one of our 2 bowl selling tents……we will not be allowing tasters to bring their own bowl to the chili cook-off.

Join us on the beautiful Esplanade rooftop terrace for a patio party featuring live music by The Cold Shot Band.
