Welcome Message

Welcome to the City of Medicine Hat, City Centre Development Agency (CCDA) website.

We are Medicine Hat's Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA). The CCDA board of directors develops promotional ideas and events to draw people to the City core, as well as researches new opportunities for investment and development.

From business to pleasure our downtown has it covered! Visit our unique retail stores and professional offices including banks, law firms, the Court House, accountants, brokers, dentists, doctors, City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce, employment services, government offices, non-profits, the Esplanade Arts and Heritage theatre, art gallery and archives and last, but not least, our public library.

Socially we have pubs, restaurants and a growing coffee shop culture. All of these offer impeccable customer service and periodic live entertainment.

We are lucky to have two beautiful parks in the downtown core, Riverside Memorial park and BATUS park. Riverside Memorial park hosts a bandstand for outdoor concerts and is situated along the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. In the heart of downtown we have BATUS park, named to commemorate the unique bond that developed between the City of Medicine Hat and the British Army Training Unit Suffield. Both parks are wonderful locations for events or even just enjoying a picnic lunch.

Also situated in the heart of our downtown core is the CCDA owned historic Monarch Theatre, one of the oldest in service movie theatres in Canada. Enjoy great movies Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights each week or rent the theatre for your private function.

Welcome to our beautiful City, enjoy our downtown, and if we can be of any assistance just hit the contact link at the top of the page.
